Comcast

So the Comcast guy came today and installed the new DVR and High-Speed Internet. The DVR was really simple to install since it’s basically the same box but with a hard drive in it. Now I get to finally record all the episodes of Smallville that I miss when I watch the O.C. (since I guess the O.C. is more popular amongst my age-group). After giving him a little tutorial in Pre-N routers, he finally installed the cable high speed internet. Well..not really. He tried installing it but the comcast server was down, so he gave me a disc to let me do it later on. After a little discrepency between the router and modem, I finally got it to work. I’m really happy with the new speeds.

munich

What a hell of a movie. I watched Munich tonight at Crocker Park at 10:30 after a family dinner at Brio, where I saw Liz, Kate, Georgia, and her sister Jessica. It was a fuckin 1hr wait :(. Anyways, it was quite a long movie, clocking in at 2 hours and 44 minutes. To anyone wanting to watch it, it’s only at Crocker Park (basically… not at Cobblestone) and shows on only one screen. It’s a shame really, movies that don’t deserve multiple screens take away from the opportunity to watch this film. In my opinion, the story was compelling, the movie never dragged, and it was one of those rare movies where I actually evaluated my own life (and just for clarification for Emily, I thought about how it’d be if I was in his situation, such as having to leave his wife as she was giving birth to their child, becoming a terrorist, and how lucky I am for not having to go through such an experience). It really shows where revenge can lead you, and how an assassin’s life may be like. Dealing with the fact that they’ve killed people in such a way, and seeing how it affected their personal life afterwards…it’s quite the experience. Eric Bana did a really good job showing the pain that his character underwent. Thing is, I’m not sure whether or not Spielberg knew when to end the movie. Seems as though it was another LOTR: Return of the King endings. Esco’s final decision… Continue reading ‘Shoutbox is Done’

Screwed Over

Even though you’re listening and nodding, in your head you’re like “this guy is fuckin’ me big time.” You just believe whatever they say; “Yeah we had to replace the roof on your car, it resented the rest of the car, so we replaced that. Also, there was a tiny unicorn in your exhaust and he was jumping and poking holes in your exhaust, and he was shitting in your filters as well. So we had to get that out of there.” Wow, thank you very much. I did not know that there was a tiny mythological animal jumping around in there … that’s very dangerous. Shitting in filters, no way. Especially with a road trip coming up, that’s very dangerous. That little son of a b. How much is that.. seven thousand? I was going to suggest, I’d like to pay seven thousand’ish, I’d love to pay for that… Thank you for not fucking me big time.

So we got 6 movie posters for our basement that we were going to get framed. We weren’t expecting them to be too expensive to frame…I guess not. The cost was about $230 / poster. I talked to my mom about it, and she said do it anyway. Jesus..$1350ish all together w/ tax…assholes

Switching Internet Providers Too!

Yay for switching ISPs. We were with CenturyTel before…and here are my “blazing” internet speeds:

Well, we switched to Comcast and they’ll be installing it on thursday. There are two services that Comcast provides, 4.0Mbps / 384Kbps or 6.0Mbps / 768Kbps. It’s a $10 difference…hopefully mama ta will let me get the latter. My Xbox Live gaming would be uber sweet.

By the way, I’m putting in new plugins for my website, the first being a shoutbox on the side. Try it out if you want to.

I’m going to watch Rumor Has It today, we’ll see how it goes.

Please Excuse the Mess

Dane Cook: I invite her back to my apartment, or as I like to call it, the Deathstar.
I’m still working on it, it’s not completely operational.

I’m currently upgrading / messing around with the site. Wordpress released version 2.0 today, and I’m taking this chance to start over. The site might have looked good to you, but it was actually a mess. The host was horrible and there was a lot of unorganized code on my end. Well, I switched web hosts, joining asmallorange.com with the advice of Baker. One of the guys who operates the host is from neowin.net, and I actually sold him a Logitech remote, so I felt pretty good about switching. They’re also very well known for their customer service, so A+ for that. It’ll be ready in a couple of days, and it’ll most likely look different than what my site used to look like.
