mmm, first blog update since…beginning of March? Well, I’m updating from Greece right now, on the home stretch of the Greece and Italy trip. It’s been really fun so far. Except, of course, for the Hong Virus. The Hong Virus (named after freshman Stephan Hong) has several symptoms that appear in different combinations. First, and most common, is puking. Pretty much for…8 hours straight. Second, yet more controllable, is diahrrea. Imodium seems to plug up the butthole well enough. Third is a fever, which has only shown up in one person so far, Greg. The victims of this disease so far have been: Hong Kong, Greg, Mrs. Sparks Roberts, teacher from Florida, and Alexi…well maybe not Alexi. I think it may have been from driving in the bus for so long.
So how about I get three college admissions letters tomorrow online…and I’m so scared. I hear from Johns Hopkins, Tufts, and Cornell around 5pm EST…so like midnight over in Greece. It’s going to suck so much just waiting and waiting for it. I REALLY want to go to Johns Hopkins, i just can’t put it into words how much I do. But, you need to be prepared for the worst, and I think I am. I’ll update the blog right when I find out!
I should be home around Friday at 5ish, so if you see me on AIM (which I am right now for some odd reason,) it’s not me. I mean, you could IM me anyway, but…you’d get pretty bored after a while. Til tomorrow, Ciao!

It feels good to get accepted to a college. For a while there, different scenarios were going through my head about getting rejected from all 9 of my schools. I was pretty sure I’d get into Case, but there was always that sense of doubt. That’s a load off my chest
We had our captain voting for the LRA tennis team this past week, and Gurpal was voted captain with me and jerry as assistant captains. Woot.
I’m going to play Ghost Recon now…I’m addicted. And now that I’m into a college, I can play as much Xbox 360 that I want.

So I preordered the new Japanese Nintendo DS Lite a couple weeks ago because it’s new and not region locked. Unfortunately, the demand was really high in Japan which jacked up the prices of the online importers, so they couldn’t sell any of their systems at a reasonable price. Hopefully the prices will die down before I leave for Greece and Italy, I’m pretty sure they will.
Dear Erik,
this e-mail is intended to give you an update about your recently placed Nintendo DS Lite preorder (Order Number 2601178).
As for every new hardware release, the situation for dealers such as Play-Asia is never fully predictable in advance. Even though we are trying hard to fulfill all preorders on or before release at the previously announced price, availability and pricing are subject to final supply & demand. The very first Nintendo DS Lite units were offered to us within the last 2 days at prices ranging from US$ 250 to US$ 300, leaving us no choice but to further keep an eye on the market situation during the next few days until prices will go down to reasonable levels.
Nintendo has announced to ship a total of 450,000 Nintendo DS Lite units during the month of March, along with 200,000 old Nintendo DS models. Even though prices are high, they have constantly been dropping during the last 2 days and indications were given that units will be priced significantly below the US$ 200 mark in the following week.
Once again we apologize for the unforeseen situation and hope for your continued support.
